About OTSM’s President
Barbara Shultz, is the president of OT Services and More, LLC. She is a national board-certified Occupational Therapist who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1988.
After graduation, she furthered her studies in chronic pain training with Dr Upledger learning CranioSacral Therapy (CST).
In her early career, Barbara worked in private practice with a Physical Therapist and her focus was on upper extremity, neck pain, TMJ, migraines, and other chronic pain issues. Her CST techniques provided significant relief to clients with trauma-based conditions, neurodivergence and chronic pain.
Barbara’s career took a transformative turn when she started working with special needs children at The School of Hope in Hope, Arkansas. Her intuitive understanding of children’s behaviors and their transformation earned her the name “The Kid Whisperer.” She discovered a deep need for specialists to work with neurodivergent children and dedicated herself to furthering her training to support these children and their families.
Over the past 35+ years, Barbara has opened 4 clinics specializing in neurodivergent children and their families.
She also has 10 years of acute hospital experience working in Portland, OR’s St Vincent Hospital and then their rural hospital in Willamette Falls, OR.
She has worked in schools, skilled nursing facilities and outpatient adult clinics.
She has worked as a traveling therapist for over 10 years bringing her expertise to rural areas that typically lack access to such specialized care. Many travel settings require an eclectic OT due to rural, critical care assess facilities needing coverage in a hospital, swing bed unit, SNF and outpatient clinic which Barbara is able to provide.
.Her traveling has taken her up and down the west coast over to the Midwest where she’s had the privilege of supporting small, rural communities. That experience deepened her belief that access to thoughtful, individualized care shouldn’t depend on location.
Over the years, her husband supported her behind the scenes — helping in clinics, volunteering at the hospitals she worked at always learning alongside her. Inspired by the impact of therapy, he went back to school getting an Associate degree and becoming a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) as his third career.
They now work together under OT Services and More, LLC, combining their experience and shared values to serve clients and communities.
She is contracted with the Washington State Healthcare Staffing Network (WSHN) — a partnership that allows them to work and bring other skilled, compassionate therapists to rural and underserved areas across the state making this an excellent partnership.
